Hi, I've not asked for help before but here goes - I thought I was happy following dh to los angeles - but now i have reservations. I am a sahm and I am not sure how I will meet other grown -ups. Also the kids ds 7, and dd 4 love their school and don't want to move. I am stuggling to think of exciting things to tell them about the US as I've only been once - and that was for three days! I can't even tell them which school they will go to as we will be in a hotel for the first few weeks. Any mumsnetters out there with kids changing primary school and country?

Lat, I promise you your kids will settle in, no problems, YOU might take a little longer but you'll find your feet(and your contacts) on your own or thru your kids. Don't worry, your're giving your kids a great and broad education....

thanks dolally, really appreciate the reply. think I'm just a wee bit scared of the whole moving out of blighty thing.
I think maybe kiddies are picking up on my reservations, the states seems a long way away from home. Dh is being a total love about the whole thing . But here I am at home on my own while he's away - what will it be like on my own in california? Oh well enough self pity Friends (?) keep on telling me that it will be foggy in LA the first few months that we will be there. Somebody tell me they are joking
