Communication with Stockel maternelle in Brussels

Hi. First time posting. DS is 3 in July but very big for his age and behind in his language. He went to a French-speaking creche since 7 months and started in EC de Stockel end Feb. Goes to garderie so we've not seen much of teacher. We had one request for chat about behaviour where I was told he doesn't listen and had been hitting, which was not a total surprise as we had been having a lot of temper tantrums at home. Since then we've had a real improvement at home over the last few weeks as his language has improved.

No further communication from school until last week - then two notes: one concern that his potty training wasn't good enough and a second saying that we had been giving the wrong collation. In his bag today was a letter asking us for a meeting with the Directrice on Wednesday.

So I have two questions. Is this the normal level of communication you'd expect from a maternelle? And how serious is a meeting with the directrice? I will go to the class tomorrow and speak to the teacher as I can't wait 48 hours worrying.
