Bordeaux: HUGE Brocante till 11 May

I am just here for a couple of Days with DS and MIL, came across a massive Brocante de Printemps

There are about 200 exhibitors and it is really good value.

I say this because where we are in the Dordogne, the brocantes are overpriced tat and the vide greniers are just old toys, clothes and stuff I would usually bin when having a clear out of my loft barn

Unfortunately I came on the train so can't buy much, but next year I am bringing the car!

I don't know how far into the dordogne you are but just over the border in the haute Vienne there is a brilliant antiquities brocante. It's very large (an old school) and is run by a very knowledgeable English lady. www.labrocantelaforge.com They have just made the barn at the back into a "rummage room" so there are plenty of bargains to seek out. Might be worth a visit if you are not too far away? Great stuff and excellent prices.

Happy bargain hunting in Bordeaux. I'm so jealous, that is my idea of heaven! Smile

Thanks for the heads up. She is quite a long way north as i am in the south dordogne. I will bookmark her and stop off if I am ever passing.

The Brocante here in Bordeaux is just unbelievable, there are just acres of stalls and all really different stuff and amazing value, especially the first day which was "traders" only. I was really considering lugging a 50 euros vintage trunk on the train...

I am coming without a doubt next year without 3 yo DS

Squidgy Thanks for that, I have bookmarked it for next year. I'll have to drive down, there's only so much a girl can get on a train by herself Grin
