Brussels and residency requirements confusion!

I was wondering if someone could help as my French does not seem to be good enough and the English information seems contradictory.

I am wondering whether I need to register in Brussels as a temporary resident. I am not going to be living there full time but I will be visiting my partner a lot and it will take me over 90 days in the next 6 months. I don't seem to fit in any of the categories - I'm not working or jobseeking in Belgium. Will I also need health insurance beyond my annual travel insurance? I would still be registered with my GP in the UK.

If anyone could shed any light on this - as well as exciting things to do in Brussels! - I would be very very grateful!

What nationality are you?
You appear to fit the category of "dependent".
You GP in the UK has no consequences to medical care of registering here.
My guess if you register as your husband's dependent.

My partner will be working there for at least a year. We're not married though and don't have children.

I will be studying in the UK during the week, I'm British, but joining him at weekends and for a few longer periods - up to a month - which is why I go over the 90 day limit.

So you won't be going over the 90 day limit at all, it's 90 consecutive days, so you don't register but have an EHIC card. You can go to a GP here but you pay the full amount without refund, any emergency hospital treatment you might pay, depends on the hospital making the connection between EHIC and billing the NHS direct, or you pay the bill with the hospital and then claim the refund from the NHS.
