Foreign TV

We have the standard german cable TV with around 34 channels and there is absoloutly nothing on! Is TV such rubbish where you are? Roll on the kids summer holidays starting then we will be on the first plane to the UK and decent TV!

Thanks for the tip but we are in an old building with no balcony so we can't put a dish up. I can apparently get an english channels package from my cable people but to be honest after such a long time with out decent viewing I have got into the way of doing other things instead of TV and could imagine going without altogether. The latest news is available online and even the kids are usually happy without the rubbish that is on offer! German kids TV is really bad, they buy all the fox or nick cartoons and only occasionally buy fingr tips, art attack style stuff that is OK for kids.

Ah yes, a balcony would help for the dish...sorry insensitive suggestion .

I know what you mean about the German TV, I live in Austria so that's mainly what we pick up as well. We don't have cable to our building but almost every expat I know that has cable watches BBC Prime.

Maybe in winter when the weather is too bad and we runout of imagination we might order the english package from the cable people it is probably BBC prime - now we have BBC world news cnannel and CNN in english. For now I am looking forward to atleast a month back in the UK - it will be really hard to come back but I do that to myself every year!
