Children sporting activities in Singapore

Hi,

We are drilled on our homework Singapore style, but could do with more sporting activities!

We do MyGym etc, but it's all fairly small spaces. Does anybody have any sporty suggestions for week day afternoons for a 5 and 4 year old?

Thanks

Where are you and which sports? There is football, rugby, horse riding, golf and tennis at turf city, swimming is a great non sweaty exercise (find yourself a teacher). There are also lots of martial arts around, taekwondo and capoeira at turf city again, or aikido at loewen gardens, plus all sorts of dancing. You can do ice skating or roller blading at kallang, fencing at great world city, or take bikes / scooters through the botanic gardens or the coast parks.

Those are just the ones off the top of my head. One of the great things about Singapore is that there are opportunities for kids to try almost anything....

Hi,
Thanks - we're by Bueno Vista MRT / Rochester Prk.
I looked up the gymnastics at turf city - looks good, we'll go and see for ourselves on Monday.
Any team sports or group activities are what we're seeking. A tennis group for instance... Where do you find swimming coaches here? I shall look on some boards...
Much appreciated.

There are also Tennis Clubs up at Turf City for little ones - I think it's call 'ACE'.

There are also 2 swimming schools up there Marsden's which follows Austswim programme and Aquaducks both of which would have classes suitable for your dcs. Alternatively you can get instructors who will come to your condo to give lessons.

You might also want to try Sportball or Shaws Little League these are multi-sport programmes so they get a taster of several different ballsports. DS (4) does Sportball which is 7 or 8 ballsports (Rugby, Tennis, Baseball, Basketball, Golf, Football etc). They do 2 weeks of each sport which is a good way of introducing them to a number of different sports before they decide which one (if any) they might like to persue.
