Even DEET doesn't seem to be very effective on me. If I go out (live in a very mosquito filled area, affected by dengue) any time of day, I am bitten several times. The kids and DH are mostly OK, I'm just one of those people, but it's driving me mad.

I'm taking vitamin B complex (only just started so can't say if it works), but any other ideas?

Any suggestions for kiddies?? My DS 5 is an absolute magnet to the blighters. We don't have many but they seem to feast on him and he swells up terribly. Have sprayed his room - which he shares with DD 3 who doesn't get a nibble! - but 2 days later they are back and I don't want to spray again as the stuff is disgusting and can't do them any good...

I remember getting my DS a little gadget that took a watch battery, and emitted a high pitched noise (too high to disturb a child) every few seconds.

You could place it in bed with them, or on their wrist if I recall.

Actually ignore that last post - I don't recommend using high frequency alone as I don't think they can prove it works enough just to trust using one method.

If it is sleeping/in bed that is the risk then the best thing is a sleeping net.

Air conditioning dries out and kills a lot of insects too apparently.
