Watching replay of programs from your home country

I am in the UK but french national.
I would really like to be able to watch french programs on the internet but of course they are blocked to any computer that is not in France.
Do any of you know how you can change your IP address so that I could watch them?
I would imagine that some of you have had exactly the same issue wanting to watch the BBC iplayer from abroad. Have you managed to find ways to avoid the blocks?

You need a VPN (virtual private network) that gives you a "local" IP address. I am in Belgium and have one that lets me access the UK iPlayers. There must be a french version.....

There are some free ones, but we pay about £5 per month for ours - sans adverts.....

Would you have a name by any chance? £5 per month is absolutely fine for me! So much cheaper than trying to buy endless number of DVDs.

Any issues with speed that make it difficult to watch things on the iplayer?

We use one for the UK. There is a buffering problem but it's fine if you can download (ie for BBC iplayer) and for some reason 4oD is fine. I had a quick google of French VPN services and there appear to be quite a few!
