Hi all
Im 26, married with no kids as of yet (but been trying for two years!) and have been offered a great job in Dubai. The sort of opportunity I would never get in a millions years in the uk. My husband works from home on the Internet so we are seriously thinking about it. I was wondering if there were any other ex-pats who could offer thier experiences. How bad is the heat in summer? Are they as stict as you read in the news? What would it be like with a baby? Thanks so much!

I have no up to date advice because I lived there many years ago. I would just like to say for a couple of years it will be a great experience. I would imagine you would be better off putting the baby making on hold for awhile if you do move just so that you can get established in your job and also have a fab time for a couple of years?

what do you want to know exactly??

i am in dubai now with my 7 yr old, my parents have lived here for 8 years (we are all from essex originally) i have lived 3 years of that in oz, but most of time spent in dubai!

My brotherlives here with his wife, they have a 2.5yr old girl and 4month old boy (came over for christening as i was godmother:) ) and they have never been back to uk in 6 years.

Yes it is hot and yes it is expensive, but as long as your new job is paying for your relocation, your villa, all expenses as well as your wage and willing to pay for future school fees then it is fine!

i spend alllot of time here and i can honestly say we never eat in, always top resturants, its a great life and so much for kids to do, i brought my dd here at 5 months for 3-4 months ata time and was never a problem
