Calling Oz expats living in London

Just wondering if there is anyone else out there considering a move back to Oz after having had a baby in London? I have been living in London for the past seven years. I love it but since having had a baby a year ago, am wondering if we can give her the best lifestyle here or in Australia. The cost of housing here is prohibitive and for what you get, I'm wondering if it would be better just to move back to Oz. Anyone else in the same boat?

Molybdenum- it's as if you have read my mind. Everything you say about Perth I can relate to and it sounds as if your DH and mine have similar views too. Perth is so expensive now and quite frankly if i was to spend the money, I would much rather eat out and shop in Melbourne anyhow. However I know that Perth is much better for daily access to things like the outdoors/Nature than Melbourne which is what I want for my kid. I know what you mean about Freo being a Freo girl myself but Freo isn't what it used to be, the council has sold out. I think apart from having family in Perth, my dilemma between the two cities also comes from the fact that I know very little about what Melbourne would be like for families. I lived there for two years but I was living the single girl lifestyle whereas I know Perth is all about families which is why so many young adults leave! If I were to pick the best city for just me and DH, Melbourne would in hands down. But with the inclusion of the little one, Perth rears its head. Tough choice.
Ps- perth weather also wins out over Melbourne although coming from London, it wouldn't seem so bad
