I cannot beleive how expensive it is! jeepers having listened to numerous nm ers telling me that it is so cheap in blighty....the food, eating out... jeepers... so far we will re mortgage to pay the fuel he will use.... he stopped for a burger on the way up north and a single burger ( hungry jacks) cost hm 6.80 gbp.... just the burger....a pint of beer 3.20gbp....he had a wander into tesco and although yes they still do some "loss leader "products.... in general he wouldnt have bought the meat as the beef was coloured and the chicken bleached.. so yes cheaper but not quite the fresh stuff he is used to now. price difference... 8 gbp a kilo chicken and we pay $9 a kilo. still id pay more and have it hormone and bleach free. Beef however was the same price yet looked bright red. not the well hung blue/ burgundy... so i figure the 20gbp i gave him to live on may not surfice. He will come back very slim and have walked alot.... so Australia may not be the el cheapo place to live.... but the grass is no greener on the other side either... swings and roundabouts and i guess it is just where you prefer to be....
