Online gifts in Australia

We are living overseas (Europe) and have lots of family in Australia. Can anyone recommend a decent online store like Amazon where we can buy gifts for them, particularly for children? Many thanks!

Everything in Australia is so expensive that people tend to shop from overseas websites - even with postage it's cheaper than buying locally.

There are lots of sellers of new toys and things on ebay.com.au, often based in China or Hong Kong.

Amazon.co.uk (does free supersaver shipping at the moment for over 25 pounds)
Book depository

I will watch with interest as I find that online shopping here is appalling and would love to have some good places.

Amazon.co.uk, as mentioned, does free shipping for books and DVDs/CDs only over £25 per order - toys, no.

ebay - there are some useful ebay shops that service Australia that are cheaper than the usual stores here.

In general I agree with ninedragons.

IWOOT (www.iwantoneofthose.com) is a UK online-only company that ships to Australia pretty cheaply - full of gadgets and stuff you never knew you wanted - the last order I placed with them cost me the immense sum of £3.75 shipping to Australia, I have NO IDEA how, because when I had to return one item (slightly wrong), it cost me $27 to return it!! Which I will get back from IWOOT - and I've never had a problem with them doing that before, they're normally very good. They don't have a vast range of children's toys though - they do have some.

I'm not in Oz but love the Daily Buzz - some great ideas and lots of links to online retailers

Thumbwitch not wanting to high-jack but on IWOOT website, you can filter for 'recipient' and there's an option for Mistress!!!! Shock

Thumbwitch · 14/01/2012 14:18

I discovered Everythingbutflowers.com.au on the weekend which looks ok. I haven't used it though.
