Who's coming?

Sad not me.
Nobody in my new area wants to meet up. I think, my only 'local' MNer is a religious freak so I'm not keen on meeting her.
Enjoy.

scaryteacher · 09/11/2011 10:27

What time? Have to be back home by 1415.

Portofino · 09/11/2011 10:30

I will try to.

Kreecher - that's a bit sad!

Longtime · 09/11/2011 21:39

kreecher/rips, that IS sad :(

How about midday?

OP posts:
Portofino · 09/11/2011 21:42

I will try to "work from home" that day....

slightlycrinkled · 11/11/2011 11:34

oh god was considering joining you all for this but I'm paranoid now that I'm the religious freak Grin

Longtime · 11/11/2011 23:56

kreecher's not in Belgium anymore slightly so if you're here you can't be the religious freak!

slightlycrinkled · 16/11/2011 16:16

Phew, that's a relief Longtime!! Grin

Portofino · 16/11/2011 16:54

Well I know it's not ME! Grin

Longtime · 16/11/2011 20:39

Nor me! So slightly, are you coming?

Hi, we arrived in Belgium in September, I'm not sure if I'm too old for this group? My youngest is 14 and at the BSB in Tervuren, my eldest has just started Uni. I have time on my hands and would love to meet new people. V

slightlycrinkled · 17/11/2011 12:27

Sadly Longtime, after all that, I've double-booked myself and can't attend.

Hope you all have a lovely time though!

Welcome to Bxls Flowerpot

scaryteacher · 17/11/2011 12:47

Why would you be too old Flowerpot? We range from those with young kids, to having some at uni and some in Year 11 at BSB! If 1965 is your year of birth, you are older than me.

Hope to see you next Friday.

scaryteacher · 17/11/2011 12:47

Sorry, that should have been older than me, just, as I am 1966.

CuriousJen · 17/11/2011 15:43

Hello,
I've just moved to Brussels (2 weeks ago) and I'm looking to meet English speaking people as my French isn't up to scratch at the moment (though I'm trying to improve it).

Could I come along? I have an 8 month old that I would have to bring along as I have no childcare. Would that be OK or is the venue not really suited to babies?

Longtime · 17/11/2011 19:34

Hi CuriousJen and welcome to Brussels! I haven't been to the venue so hopefully someone else will comment who has. Hopefully it will be though as it would be good to meet you. We have a spreadsheet with details of a lot of the Belgian mumsnetters. If you're interested, I can put you on it! I'll pm you with my e-mail address.

Ooooh, and I missed flowerpot! Sorry about that!

No, you're definitely not too old. My eldest has finished at uni! I'll pm you too.

Fonteyne the Kitchen should be fine with a baby, there's a lift which takes you to the restaurant, some tables have room to put a pushchair next to the table. When I went the other week, the place was still reasonably empty just after 12, but after 12.30, it was completely packed, so I hope you are either booking or planning to arrive early.

I'll be eating the children's leftovers (depending on the menu!) tomorrow at work during my 45 minute lunch break, thinking of you all.

Portofino · 17/11/2011 21:00

I'm old too! Must remember to think of some feeble excuse (boiler service or some such) so I can work from home that day....

Portofino · 17/11/2011 21:02

natation. you need to start a separate thread suggesting a meet up earlier in the week. I am sure there are people happy to do Mon/Tue.Wed. I can, depending on where.....

Longtime · 17/11/2011 22:38

Natation, you had me worried there for a minute! It's a week tomorrow!

I still haven't booked this yet! So, final numbers, who's coming?

OP posts:
Portofino · 23/11/2011 19:56

I can't I'm afraid - have to be in the office and stockel is a bit of a schlep for lunchtime. Is it a nice central location for most people? Should we try to reorganise an Xmas evening do - last years got cancelled due to extreme weather....

CuriousJen · 23/11/2011 21:54

I'm still up for coming to lunch if it's going ahead. I'm near Schuman at the moment so can get the metro to Stokkel but can also meet up in the centre if plans change.
