Wow,have just gone to post and it wouldn't except it! So have had to start a new thread. Hope everyone finds it ok.I feel a bit like we've all been out for the night and somehow got seperated and no one has their mobile!!Grin
Anyway, this was the question I've had to cut and paste from the old thread:...

Sorry, have had a quick look but can't see...has anyone used emirates?
I think the sky couch thing looks good, but we'd have to buy a couple and that would be pricey.
Dh reckons Emirates are fine, but I don't think he's anticipating how different it's going to be travelling that disatnce with 3 exhausted infants.
He has limited travel experience as it is and the longest he has been on a plane with them is 3 hours. He keeps saying it will be fine, they'll sleep for loads of it...somehow I'm thinking this will not happen!!

justabout - I'm not sure to be honest where we'll be. DH's co. have offered 4 weeks accomodation and from speaking to a colleague who went he got serviced aapartments in the centre of town so I should imagine we may be offered something like that as they may have a deal - they've said $3200 worth of accomodation so maybe we'll get to pick though.

Where is AB - she's gone all quiet?

thelittlestkiwi I just remembered earlier in the thread you said something about ordering from Boots International. I didn't realise they delivered internationally - do you have a link? I've looked at the Boots UK site but can't see anything about delivery overseas.

thelittlestkiwi · 22/12/2011 04:17

I fear it was wishful thinking Whatshesaid.....

Some stuff is much more expensive here- I just bought 100 multivitamins for $45 :-( Now I wish I'd done a boots international order!

Oh I searched for the message because I couldn't remember who the poster was! I was getting all excited thinking Boots might deliver here...

WhatSheSaid · 22/12/2011 04:33

Sorry, those first two lines of that post were the quote I searched for...

Thanks for that Justabout, I'll let you know if have questions. Mainly trying to work out which areas are best to live in at mo! My DH is an engineering geologist and will be working on the christchurch rebuild.
Horrible goodbyes this week, went to see my grandparents, and granddad is so thrilled for us as it was his dream to go to NZ before he joined the army at 15, then never got chance, but we've just found out he's got leukemia and so probably hasn't got long left so we both knew it was last time we'd see each other. He's normally so strong, spent whole life in army, and was first time I'd seen him cry. Broke my heart, and was only kids that stopped me from losing it. I've hardly got any family, so not that many goodbyes, but still finding it tough, must be even harder for those of you with big families, I sympathise. Sorry for going on, needed to vent!

Highlander that's a really kind offer - in reality, there's not much I can't get hold of out here - I think it was just the thought of another internet shopping site to waste my time on that I was getting excited over!

febes · 23/12/2011 01:16

Just had another massive quake in Christchurch Xmas Sad we are all huddled in the midlle of the lounge.

Sibble · 23/12/2011 01:25

febes, hope you are all OK, just watching it on TV

febes · 23/12/2011 01:28

What are they saying. We are watching Toy story here don't want to change as the kids are freaked enough as it is. After shocks are rolling in. Is there any damage in town?

Sibble · 23/12/2011 01:31

hi saying 5.8, no known damage yet, airport closed and malls evacuated.

Sibble · 23/12/2011 01:36

febes, boys are harassing me for a swim, will check back on here later to see you are still OK. Take care

febes · 23/12/2011 01:43

Thanks we're all good don't worry enjoy your swim xx

EtInTerraPax · 23/12/2011 01:51

Just seen the news- hope all on here are alright.
Take care.

WhatSheSaid · 23/12/2011 01:52

Yep, 5.8, 1 known injury, was 8km deep, epicentre was off the coast. What a crappy time of year to have yet another one Sad. Don't think there's too much damage or at least not much has been reported yet

WhatSheSaid · 23/12/2011 01:59

No reports of building collapses. Some liquefaction in the eastern suburbs apparently.

The second one was even bigger. I had more breakages and cleans up this time than Feb or June (I was still in the UK in sept) its just so scary! My tree fell over and all the decorations came off but we enjoyed recorating! We are lucky not to get any liquification here (in redwood -north west suburb) I'm really lucky to live in the same street as my mum and dad and sister and my brother isn't far away so we will all be together for Christmas. Life goes on (again).

WhatSheSaid · 23/12/2011 06:17

Glad you're all OK, febes.
