I've posted on a couple of related threads but really shouldn't hijack those. Dh is may be moving his job & our family next month. His office & mine are both in central Manhattan & ds 2 is 4 months, ds1 will be 3 in August.

Where do you recommend living? Ideally looking for safe at night, family friendly area near Green spaces/ toddler resources.

Many thanks as I have very little time to look into this before we go.

Where in Manhattan are your offices? Will you be flying a lot (newark is a better airport according to DH) and are you able to spend more than $5k a month on rent?

I just posted about daycare/preschool on another thread but bright horizons is somewhere I suggest you take a look at.

Haven't lived in Manhattan but visited lots.
Nice residential areas - Upper West side, Upper east side, Tribeca and even Staten Island (free ferry to Manhattan very often but not in Manhattan)

also this website seems good:

cityangel, that is brutal. It has happened to us 3, yes, 3 times this year. Since june, we have been meant to move to Zurich (department lost the budget for the new job), Sydney (Job offer withdrawn a week later) and Auckland (Job Offer withdrawn after interference from CEO). Poor DH is starting to feel black balled.
