British School of Paris - Uniform

My DC start BSP in November. I received school?s Handbook where I found that information, ?All items other than footwear must be bought at the School Uniform Shop at Croissy?. It means as I understand even I have old grey trousers or pale blue shirts which still fit I have to buy the new one in the school uniform shop. There is any difference between them?

Hi Ania! I think you'll get away with it, as long as they look vaguely like official ones (and I think official ones are actually M&S or John Lewis.) I will confirm with some mums with older boys...

Enforcement of uniform has been reasonably slack in recent years, it is starting to be clamped down on but frankly if you get caught with slightly wrong shade shirt or trousers worst that will happen is you'll be asked to get new one! (as will many others!)

Will get lowdown direct from mums of boys and report back!

Hi Dilbertina,
Thank you one more time. As many parents; because of process; I always try avoiding school uniform shop.
I?m looking forward to seeing you.

Ok, checked with 3 mums of boys today and not one of them have bought shirts or trousers from uniform shop. Lady in uniform shop isn't too anxious to empty your wallet so just tell her you've already got them - I doubt she will ask for details! See you soon!

Many thanks. I hope to see you 8th of November. Ania

Hi everyone hoping you can help! We are new to Paris and the children are meant to start school on Monday but our school uniform delivery has been delayed! We are having trouble finding a plain blue polo top and grey trousers to get us through the first couple of days of school until the uniforms arrive! Any help on where to go in Paris to find these??? Thanks

Don't worry too much: children often turn up for the first few days without uniform. The school understand the situation.
