Just back from the hospital.
They got a tiny cannula in on the 2nd attempt so I'm pleased.

Was it a wig?? I thought it was your own hair?

No it’s a wig! I chipped my hair short and then chemo nearly killed me and I’m on a different medication now that doesn’t cause hair loss but I’d already cut it off by then so I just use a wig if I’m out. Usually cba!

It looks good on you! 👍

CBA too. I just took the bins out, completely bald. Neigbours family all gave a good stare as I walked out. I was like “ what the fuck are you staring at?”
Ignorant fuckers!

lucysmam · 11/05/2025 19:21

I hope you stared back @Enigma53 !

I decided to dye my fuzzy mess pink this weekend. I have some pretty pink bits, but I think that's where the most grey was. Mostly it's patchy & only looks pink in the sunlight 🤷‍♀️ . I'm going to try again later in the week, on towel dried rather than dry hair. I think that'll give better control over sections & possibly better coverage...we'll see!

RedRosesPinkLilies · 11/05/2025 20:23

I’m ok. Busy weekend as at the charity event I took part in last year - Courage on the Catwalk. I also went to the Brave event - which is for men with cancer.

It was hard - because so many people there have cancer which is cured/ curable. And I don’t.

Opens too many emotions for me. If I’m here next year think I’ll be busy that weekend

My husband has a plan for us both to climb a Munro tomorrow- that’ll be interesting. If I manage it will be posted on Facebook - overt boasting

EachandEveryone · 12/05/2025 00:26

@sellotapechicken wish me luck!! Xx

Wishing you all the luck in the world! I did medical school at Edinburgh and I loved every single second of being in Scotland. We used to go out hiking a fair bit and we did a couple of munros! We did Ben Lomond once hungover to shit if I remember correctly.. 😬 I grew up in n. wales and regularly visited snowdonia, I think
more than once I pushed my bike up snowdon and mountain biked down 🤣.

Which one are you doing? Put some photos on the group! I’m so jealous you live in Scotland!

I feel you with the trying your hardest to help with cancer events and then feeling really bloody angry that this isn’t your reality.

Florsilvestredelcampo · 12/05/2025 07:25

@EachandEveryone I hope you have managed to get some sleep and that your pain is being controlled.
@RedRosesPinkLilies good luck with your walk today I walked round the local garden centre yesterday and had to have a two hour sleep afterwards! X

GoldenDog1 · 12/05/2025 08:47

@sellotapechicken that sounds like fun.
I've not had a good alcohol puke for years 😄

@Enigma53 some people are so rude.
I would have flipped them a middle finger 🖕

@lucysmam I love Pink hair.
I've had mine different shades of Pink a few times in the past.

@RedRosesPinkLilies good luck with your Munro climb today.
So much admiration even attempting that.
Where do you get your energy from?
I'm off into town to meet a colleague for a coffee and have a wander but I guarantee just doing that will knacker me out.
Please boast away with lots of pics
Xxxx

EachandEveryone · 12/05/2025 08:51

I managed afew hours my crp is up to 300 though so I expect some lines will come out. I’m boiling. Can wiggle my toes thank goodness.

its beautiful out there I hope that you all have a lovely week x

Enigma53 · 12/05/2025 14:54

@Whatevershallidowithmylife are you okay? X

lucysmam · 12/05/2025 18:46

@GoldenDog1 was yours DIY or done at a hairdresser?

@EachandEveryone glad you can wiggle your toes!

I spoke to my HT today about having more classroom based time - her answer was that she was on her way to see me about it & will see what she can do. Even an "easier" 1:1 would be fine. & it doesn't have to be every day. I'd just like to spend some time doing what I applied for 🤷‍♀️.

RedRosesPinkLilies · 12/05/2025 21:00

I am back from Munros. Knackered!! So no photos tonight. It was an area called Glen Doll, and rather than a steep climb it was basically a long long walk with steadily increasing incline. I found going uphill hard - I think because of the extra burden in my abdomen. But I did manage it. In the end it was my right knee that was sore - nice to be let down by something other than cancer for once.
I need to sort through photos. Will post tomorrow- maybe on Facebook and/ or in our group

@GoldenDog1 I did find it harder than before. Stopped a good few times. It was a long slow walk. Will be fun telling the chemo pre check nurses tomorrow though.

Rest of tomorrow will be in a hammock in the garden. I do have a reflexology appointment in the afternoon- good timing. X
