My DH will never answer my phone call again

He’s been in a hospice for end of life care for two weeks, and up until a couple of days ago we could call and text each other.
The messages I have on my phone from Friday will be the last, he’s mostly sleeping now, I’m lost.

I had the same thoughts when my dad was in nursing home (in lieu of hospice bed) and floored me!

I sometimes scroll through our chat history and photos etc and sometimes I ignore it completely!!

My DH died in September, we were prolific texters but he couldn’t use his phone very much in the final weeks. I have found reading our old messages a comfort.

@Hardtimesnow are you at his bedside just now OP? just sit and talk to him and hold his hand. he hears most things that you say to him. my daughter was only in hospice for 5 days and was sitting up talking till lunchtime. she passed away 4.5 hours later. even though you are expecting it, it is still a shock when it happens. I hope you have someone there with you. x
