I'm afraid I don't have any personal views or experience on this but am sorry you are worrying about your sister. I actually find wikipedia the best source on these things for the lay reader but then I like bald facts.

You could call someone like Macmillan. I bet they could chat through the whys and wherefores with you, if you don't want to bother your sister?

My mum has myeloma but can't tell you much about this as she's had lots of different chemo over the years so it's hard to remember what she's had and when

You could try the Facebook group myeloma uk thy are great on there and can give you some insight into it

I know someone who has taken this for 2/3 years to marvelous effect. The Haemotology Team should be able to give you lots of detail. It's been fantastic and still working well now. Everyone reacts differently to it and it's supporting drugs. Hope it works out very well.

I have a close family member who has been on this for almost 3 years now, also for myeloma . They are doing really well on it, their paraproteins fell to undetectable levels (if you don't know paraproteins are one of the indicators of how active the myeloma is). They take it alongside dexamethasone, a steroid which can have side effects. I hope that your sister has a similarly positive result to my family member Flowers
