Pancreatic cancer

Hello everyone. I just found out yesterday that the chemo for my dad's pancreatic cancer has to stop. It's making him so unwell and it isn't making any difference to the size of the (large) tumour on his pancreas. It's pain relief only from now on. His oncologist has been fantastic - as has all of his care in the part of England that he lives.
Has anyone any experience of this disease? We all know his time left is now short and to say we are devestated is an understatement. I am grateful that we can hopefully have some good days together although we are all overwhelmed just now. My sister lives in Spain and will be over as much as she can.
I suppose I am just asking for anyone who has been in this position to share (if you feel able) to give me and my family an idea of what to expect.
Thanks in advance x

So sorry Wentworth, although glad you found some relief in him being at peace.

We lost Mum to pancreatic cancer on the 12th Dec. It’s a cruel bastard of a disease. I was relieved, too. Thinking of you and sending love.

So sorry Wentworth. My Fil has this dreadful illness. No chemo as too frail, it's heart breaking.

I am still here and am grateful for all of your messages and my sympathies to those going through this with a loved one. Kind words do help and I am grateful to be back at work as for me, the distraction helps me, through my deep sadness xxx

Hi Wentworth, my dad passed away on the 8th of January too. I am not so resigned yet, but for him it was better to go. He really couldn't go on anymore. The suffering was terrible to see, though the end was peaceful.
