how to and who to ask for wheelchair

looks like I wont be able to walk anymore
or walking even at short distances will make me suffer a really agony pain

I tought that maybe a weelchair woul help me to at least get some fresh air or a basic shoping

I dont really have familly to help me live my life

who I can ask for one do I have to buy it or can I borrow from a hospital for example ??

Ive seen a gp yesterday but I never thought to ask him

please can somebody point me in the right direction

Your GP can refer you to the local wheelchair loan dept. Give your surgery a call.

Sorry to read about your difficulties. Your GP will be able too refer you for a wheelchair, they will need your height and weight. In some areas you can contact equipment services direct, through social services.

Have you a local branch of the red cross? Thats where i got my first wheelchair from before I purchased my own?

I'm a student occupational therapist I would suggest you ask to see one via your gp , our philosophy is to ensure that our patient remain central while we support them to complete activities that have real meaning to them, whatever the illness. We can provide equipment and whatever support you may need we endeavour to address. Our uniqueness is the fact that we have a unique assessment process where we gain real understanding of people x
