I have just found a hard lump in my breast just under the skin. I'm naturally anxious. Can anyone who had a cyst describe them to m? I'm trying to reassure myself. I wish it wasn't the weekend so I can go to the GP first tomorrow.

Hi Invicta - I'm afraid I have no experience in this but I didn't want you to think no one had seen your post. I'm sure some lovely wise MNers will be along soon.

Take care Wine

I found one last year - I have rather lumpy breasts anyway and thought I was imagining it. Took me a couple of days to ask DH to check, and I could see by his face that I was not imagining it. It was about the size of a small pea and smooth, round. I believe if it's smooth like that it's likely to be a cyst rather than anything malignant. I have a history of BC in the family so it was quite Shock. But, eventually got to GP, got referred to hospital, they did an scan and said it was a cyst, and the doctor drained it. All within a week.
I hope that's just what it is OP, don't fret before you have to - I know easier said than done - but most lumps are benign cysts and hopefully you have nothing to worry about. Take care x

They say majority of cases it's not BC but something else -if it's smooth and moves a little if you push it around gently, it's probably not serious - here's a link on what it could be link

Do you have any pain or discomfort? If so likely to be a cyst which is easily aspirated. Go to your GP and get it checked ASAP and treated if necessary.
