Can anyone recommend books that help my dn understand why she has two mummies?

looking for books for my DN(4) to help her understand why she has two mummies. My sis lives abroad so can't access books and wants some reassurance that she's answering the question ' where's my daddy?' ok

I bought wonderful book for my children, from Amazon, called "And Tango Makes Three". I am 32 and so arguably no longer a child but I do have two mummies . When I read the book to my two children I had to struggle though tears. I had a lovely childhood and wasn't aware of any repressed issues but it struck me to the heart. It is a lovely, gentle explanation of how they are a family like any other, something which I have had to explain over and over again throughout my life.

Granted the same-sex parents are both males and penguins to-boot but I don't think you'd go too far wrong with this book. It's a true story, by the way

if i had 100 mummies is great we also got and tango makes 3 they had offers on amazon with other books too such as everybody's different

What a nice aunt you are, Mercedes. 'Heather has two mommies' is a bit American and twee (my dd, who is 4, treats it with disdain) but I think it's a pretty good start.

There's also a website by the group 'Out for our children' that I think may have resources on it.

If your dn was conceived by donor, the DCN (donor conception network) sells a whole range of books and pamphlets dealing with a variety of conception circumstances, including lesbian couples. V child friendly and pamphlets useful for parents too.
