hertfordshire - any lesbian mums?

My partner and I have a 4 month old daughter, and are thinking of moving out of London in the next couple of years, to Hertfordshire, probably to Hertford or Ware. Are there any other lesbian mums in this area? (I know there must be!) We would be interested to hear your experiences, positive and negative, of being a gay parent outside of London. We live in an area of London where there are lots of 'alternative families', so we are still a little nervous about whether it will be harder for our daughter to grow up somewhere where gay families are less visible. Advice please!!

Just an update to say since 2011 we have had a group meeting monthly (2nd thursday of month 3-6pm in the marshalswick childrens centre on sherwood avenue in st albans. There are over 30 members of the yahoo group. Another resource set up by a local member that might be useful if you stumble across this thread is A new web group myalternativefamily.com set up to support alternative families at all stages by a local member of the yahoo group

Oh and just a good way to keep uptodate is to join the yahoo group

We are in Hertford :) It's not exactly the thriving mecca of gay-ness but we've had very little issue with homophobia over the last 10 years!
