My wife's kids proudly call me stepmom, and she is glad to hear this. All started when my wife and I started dating 6 years ago. She was divorced, ex husband was not good to her and decided she wanted to date a transwomen for the first time and a friend of mine introduced me to her. I am a pre op MTF transsexual and she knew I was the one for her. First time I met her kids, they welcomed me in and saw me like any normal person. They were 17,15 and 12, all sons and saw she was much happier since she met me. Her oldest even asked to know me more first seeing my photo book during my transition from an unhappy young man to a much happier female with lots of life now. Best part was when my wife and I got married 4 years ago, brought us together as a family.

Ok. Except you're not female. Male/female refers to your sex, not your gender. Nothing wrong with being a transwoman and I'm glad you're happy in the way you are expressing yourself.

Changing your name does not change your sex any more than wearing certain clothes or having certain surgeries or taking cross sex hormones changes your sex.

Lots of names are unisex. Lots of names that were originally used for one sex start to be used for the other sex. A name is just a combination of letters used to identify someone.

A transwoman is, by definition, male.
