LGBT+ Parents in Edinburgh

Hi there,

My girlfriend and I are expecting our first child in October. We are based in Edinburgh and have met some lovely people through antenatal classes etc. but can't seem to meet any other LGBT parents in Edinburgh. Does anyone know if there is an active group in Edinburgh?

I'm moving to edinburgh soon and need to know where the best places are for meeting similar women. Not to hook up, but it would be nice, as you say, to make friends.

Not currently expecting though or have any immediate plans to. GF keener than me at the moment.

Hi, we are in a similar boat. My partner is due in November and I’m looking for any groups or meet-ups. There’s Rainbow Families on Facebook which might be good for when baby is here as it looks like they arrange picnics, discos etc. I tried the Peanut app but there wasn’t an option for ‘Other’ Mother so felt a bit weird selecting the pregnant life stage.
Have you found anything else?

@largeagegapWLW I think there are a few groups on the Meetup app that you could also try. My partner also found one on Instagram that looked decent but with IVF etc. we never quite made it to a meetup!

@RosieGM I did see Rainbow Families so could be a good potential future option as you say. I still haven't found anything for expectant or new parents which is specifically for LGBT+ families. I'm considering starting something on Meetup as I think it could be nice to have at least a few connections who have had donor conception or something similar. Let me know if you find anything else and I'll keep you posted if we start something!
