Without giving any background to influence answers, what do you think of these comments?

Re a gay marriage:  

'Do they have a groom and groom or which one will be the bride?'

'You probably don't want to know about the present list.  Too many things that would need explaining!!,

Simple ignorance:

I'd either make a joke out of it or ask what they think they mean esp about the presents. I'm curious...

Sheesh, how rude and boring and oh so predictable. I'd have been tempted to ask them to play another record, a less tedious one :-/
