On Sunday 17th November, from 2pm – 4pm : will be holding our 1st :
"LONDON GAY/LESBIAN/BI/TRANSGENDER PARENTS GROUP" meet-up.
This will be at: Hornsey Vale Community Centre, 60 Mayfield Road, Crouch End N8 9LP (plenty of free on-street parking. Busses to crouch end : 91, 41, W7 – bus to venue: W5).
As a lesbian parent I felt that I wanted to meet other gay parents. I thought it would be good to share our experiences of parenthood whilst drinking a decent cup of tea/coffee etc... and that a designated, safe space to be able to do this in was desperately needed; I also wanted my son to meet and play with the children of other gay parents.
As I have organised this and hired the space myself, there aren't any centre "workers" or crèche facilities etc... to look after or entertain the children or anything like that. This will be down to us.
I will bring along some toys and my friends/family have donated things also. If you can bring along a toy to donate that would be great (pls can you make sure it’s in full working order, with not too many small parts!)
I will also supply Tea/coffee/juice/biscuits/fruit/cake etc for the group. One participant has offered to make cake! Please feel free to bake/bring something if you’d like to, although there is no obligation to at all…
As this group is new and hasn't met before, I really have no idea how many people there will be and how it is going to go. I hope it grows into something successful where gay parents want to come along to with their children.
If you are interested, don’t be shy, please come along and help us to make this a success. It would be great to meet you.
It costs £5 per session, per family. You can pay on the day. No booking required.
