hello all,
My partner and i are about to start our first attempts at IUI next month, so fingers firmly crossed that at some point this year we will be on our way to starting our own family. as a bit of forwrad planning, we have started thinking about where we would like to move to settle down and raise our family, We currently live in East Dulwich (SE london) which we LOVE, but, the reality is, both of our families live down the M4, and they have so far been very supportive about us trying for children, and are keen to be an active part in their lives, so to make it easier for them all, we know we need to move somewhere more easily accessible for them to drive to....because at the moment, their visits to us are few and far between!
anyway, we are trying to pinpoint a couple of areas in west london for us to focus on and start looking for properties.
There are plenty of lovely (and with a price tag to match of course!) places in the west and south west, but ideally we'd love to pick a place where there may already be a bit of a lesbian/gay parenting collection of people. We appreciate that in any play group or school, our kids are bound to always be in the minority, but as long as there are some other similar families in the area too for us to form friendships with so that they dont feel too different, we think it'll be ok.
ares we;ve discussed so far are:
Chiswick/Turnham Green/Gunnersbury
Barnes
Ealing Broadway
It would be great to hear from people who already live in these areas, or if anyone else has any other suggestions for us to look it.
Sorry the long-winded message!
thanks in advance for any help....we're at a bit of a loss at the moment!
