Is your baby due before February 2011?

Hi all

My name is Joanna and I am looking for a mother who is due to give birth soon and would be interested in taking part in observation once her baby is born. If this sounds like this could be you then please read on! And feel free to contact me for a chat or to find out more - I'm happy to answer any questions at all.

I am studying for an MSc in Psychodynamics of Human Development at Birkbeck College, in conjunction with the British Association of Psychotherapists.

To learn about early childhood development there is an important course requirement that I observe a newborn child with his/her mother (or whoever the usual carer is) on a regular basis in a normal, home setting.

The observation would consist of:
-I would visit you at home for one hour a week, at a regular time.
-Initial commitment of at least one year, starting from when your baby is born.
-I would observe you and your baby going about whatever you would usually be doing at that time.

The BAP was established in 1951 and this observation module has been running for 50 years. A lot of mothers have reported very positive feedback on the unique experience of being observed with their baby.

I will be able to provide you with a CRB check and reference from the British Association of Psychotherapists to confirm my course of study.

If you think you might be interested and would like to know more then please contact me at [email protected] or on 07967148979 to discuss further. Alternatively, if you don't think this is for you but know someone else who may be interested then please feel free to pass these details on!

Thanks for reading, hope to speak to you soon!
Joanna
