Radio 5 Live's family survey

Radio 5 are doing a big survey on UK families and inviting people to fill out their questionnaire. My partner and I looked at it just now and couldn't believe that their marital status question left out civil partnerships.
I think the more gay families who fill this out the better because it sounds like they're ignoring us right now...

indeed; but not quite sure how it's possible to register that you are a gay family - you give your sex, and then, presumably either 'married' or 'living with partner' which the default position will assume to mean that if female you are living with a male. Pretty shocking, actually. I don't live in the UK, but nonetheless

Yes. DW and I eachcompleted the survey, putting Oher, and then in the section asking about family secrets stated that we were a gay family, the existence of which is not a secret to most of the UK but apparently is to Radio 5.

I could understand it if it was the DM but I expect better of the BBC! Maybe if enough gay families make a fuss on the survey they'll get the point...
