Hi, Looking for Mums in Scotland ( cross posted thread)

I'm a Mum of a son who has a trans identity and after many conversations and attending conferences around "gender medicine", listening to all sides of the argument. I'm not buying it. He's likely autistic, history of bullying, his school was an LGBTQIA+ "charter" body and he's had bad contacts online - he's not gay. While trans adults exist, there is always a back story and I'm really concerned at the way this is being taught in schools. I and another Mum are looking to set up a Scottish organisation to help every school in Scotland with better guidance on gender and sex ed. Scottish schools can still socially transition kids in Scotland without parental consent or even informing parents Are there any other Mums on here who are concerned and could help?

Hi - have you also posted this in the Feminism board as it’s busier there?

Hi @scepticalandcynical I’m not in Scotland but i wanted to show solidarity. I am also the mum of a young person who started identifying as trans towards the end of sixth form. Like you, I kept an open mind and read everything I could get my hands on from both sides of the argument and I agree with you. I just don’t believe it’s true. In our case the most likely reason for this identity is autism and bullying, the failure to form an identity during the crucial teen years and online brainwashing combined with the Affirmative Care model. Unless you are an activist, I cannot see how anyone who reads the available literature could come to any other conclusion, yet here we are, families devastated by this ideology. I think it does fall on us parents to challenge gender affirmative care because if we don’t who will. There are some amazing women on MN who are so knowledgeable on this topic and there is a parent challenging Brighton schools or council I think. Perhaps look at the Feminism board as the PP suggested. Wishing you luck

SNP seem to be pushing woke ideologies at any cost to young people. They have gone quite far to the left in some ways and its not healthy for Scotland at all especially for the young and easily influenced. Maybe start by looking online at tik tok to try find videos. There is definitely a growing resentment particularly from woman around SNP gender ideologies.
