I know this doesnt specifically relate to DS being gay but I've posted in the LGBTQ section as otherwise will get all kinds of stereotypical "lads" present ideas and that would be DS idea of hell.

budget is ideally around £500. Don't want to give cash as he already has quite a bit from a recent inheritance

was thinking of paying him for him to do a city break with his 2 friends but 1 of his friends is very flaky and might drop out.

alternative thoughts are a lizard & full set up (he adores animals and has been asking for a lizard for a while however I'm thinking the heater/lamp might add lots onto the electricity bill as needs to be on 24/7 (I would never normally give an animal as a gift but we have lots of pets and he is studying animal management at college so very responsible for their care etc.)

final thought was hiring a lodge for about 8 people (myself & DP included) along with other DS and some of DS friends (we all get on well and when I mentioned this idea to him he seemed happy with the idea but this would be the most expensive option at around £700)

he's not into designer clothes, shoes or watches etc.

he already has a car

What about an experience? If he likes animals can you find a suitable animal experience? Or tickets to something he might enjoy either as a family or for him and some friends (experience/activity/show/concert etc)? If he likes the idea of a break away, can you find an alternative which is a bit cheaper? Not sure if you want to do it as a surprise or with his input. Good luck and hope he has a good time.

I'm not sure if this will be within uour budget, but a nights stay at Port Lymph might be right up his street if he likes animals?
