DC transition in early twenties

Does anyone have any information about gender dysphoria appearing in young men in late teens/early twenties with no earlier signs?

I'd appreciate links to information, studies, statistics about the health and fertility effects of taking testosterone blockers and oestrogen starting at age twenty-plus.

I've started looking online but struggling to find information because the focus is on school age youngsters or transwomen who have known they were / wanted to be female since early childhood. DC has started to transition socially and physically at the same time in their early 20s.

Does anyone have any pointers?

Facebook groups there's loads
YouTubers there's loads you can reach out to
LGBT+ charities will have people to speak with
Your child speak openly with them

@quietnightmare I suspect op is looking for the opposite info that she will get from trans charities

@FactsAndFeelingsMum was your DC gay or did they have any previous mental health issues ?

Thank you @quietnightmare nightmare Flowers I already spent time on YouTube but it seemed like hours of opinions for not much fact. Any specific YouTubers or Faceook groups to look at?

I guess I'm looking for a cautious approach to transition, about what's sensible in the real world. My DC is not going to pay attention to their mother saying "here watch this lovely cheerful de-transitioner video about how it all went horribly wrong, have you thought if that could happen to you?". Realistic balanced health facts and figures would go down better with all of us.

I am making contact with a T charity, Baywswater support, though their focus is a bit younger. I should probably look at some others, do you have any suggestions? DC is old enough to find charities for themselves and to have their own view on what's helpful. But it's something I can ask them about in case their provider doesn't give much support.

Thanks @catfunk Flowers

If there is specific health info or support aimed at gay/bi/ACE young men and/or young men with MH issues etc, who want to transition then yes that could also help us. But is it OK if I don't share more info about DC? They are generally a thoughtful, capable and intelligent young person.

For DH and me, our big priorities are to keep the communication open and (of course) to support our DC.

This is the kind of thing I'd like to find but for oestrogen and for testosterone blockers rather than just puberty blockers. And hopefully more about the medicine and the actual health outcomes rather than just saying "well so far the research is poor"(!)

Review of research on puberty blockers / Dutch Protocol by Prof Michael Biggs at Oxford University (he's a sociologist not a medic)

Ask Transgender Trend they’re very intelligent people there.
