Book about coming out

My friends son 14yrs old, obvious to us but surprise to his mum came out a few months ago. He’s terribly down depressed and anxious. Are there any really good books he could read maybe novels that assist in normalising all that he is going through?

Heartstopper by Alice Oseman. It is a series of graphic novels about a sweet teenage boy romance. They come out to various people as the story goes on. It is coming to Nextflix at the end of April too. The author has written lots of other LGBT young adult books too which are not graphic novels.
