To join this group of parents, go to this link:
gendercriticalresources.com/Supp...php?fid=24
where you can view the (very small) public portion of the forum. If you want to join and access the many, many threads and join in discussions with other GC parents of trans-claiming children and young adults, click on "register," which is near the top/left. You'll need an email to register; your email will never be shown online but you may want to use an anonymous account. Also, you'll probably want to use an anonymous forum name. Once you register, your account must be approved by admin, which usually takes anywhere from an hour to a day.

What a disgusting group of people. Your poor children Sad

laudanum · 16/02/2018 00:40

Inappropriate to post in this section.

bridgetbishop · 16/02/2018 00:59

Why is it inappropriate? If your child is considering the drastic step of putting themselves on a path towards being infertile before they are old enough to really understand what they are doing, it might be an idea to talk to a wide range of people before deciding whether to support your DC in this venture.

Especially when those gender critical people are saying- hey, did you know the suicide stats are not valid, It's emotional blackmail not science. And most trans kids grow up to be gay adults, life changing surgery and all its complications could be avoided.

Don't you think those are ideas worth exploring - just in case there's something in it after all?

laudanum · 16/02/2018 02:24

It's goady as fuck for it to be posted here, and you know it.

laudanum · 16/02/2018 02:25

Plus the link is broken so you failed hard there.

cista · 16/02/2018 02:27

I think that it would be a good idea to chat with parents in a similar situation. I can't see what's disgusting or goady? The op gave no opinion with their post. There is no obligation to join or even click the link.

bridgetbishop · 16/02/2018 09:05

Here's a link that works gendercriticalresources.com/Support/

There is nothing wrong with getting support and information.

I think it’s entirely appropriate of the OP to post here. ‘Support’ shouldn’t be an echo chamber. There is nothing wrong with an alternative view.

JustHooking · 16/02/2018 19:13

Kids should be put on a path where all that matters is superficial, where they are likely to be infertile and never have a sexual feeling
That is preferable to exploring all avenues Hmm

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 16/02/2018 19:16

I've seen plenty of people on MN who are looking from advice on how to support their trans-identifying child.

Mermaids gives one point of view, this group gives another. Is there any reason a parent shouldn't have information on all available options?

Laudanum and Eleanor it's a website offering support to parents of children identifying as trans. How can that be anything other than a good thing

It's not a website aimed at parents of gay children offering ways to 'un-gay' them....

Maybe you should check before dismissing out of hand.
