Help! Not sure how to approach this

Ds is 17 and has been doing the rounds of universities recently. Before he went out tonight he handed me a pile of papers from one of his preferred universities including a list of societies with the ones he liked the look of marked, one was the LBGT+ society, which is fine.

However, afaik as I know he isn't LBGT. Perhaps he's trying to tell me something, and if he is then it's fine. I don't know whether to take it as an oversight on his part and that he didn't mean me to see the societies list or if he's dropping a hint and I don't know whether to say something, maybe a comment that the societies list looks interesting so he knows I've seen it.

Help please !

I think he wants to talk you, make some conversation about how many societies there are, or what do you think you might join, gives you a back out if you have got it wrong. You sound like a lovely mum

Thank you. I tested the water by making a comment about how many there were and he was a little defensive and then went to bed, I'll see if he mentions it now he knows that I've seen the list.
