We were playing scrabble yesterday and the letters he had could make queer or queen and he laughed and said I could be either of those, I said queer as in odd, his sister said 'as in gay' and he said yes. I asked was he gay ( we've known since he was much younger that he probably would be) he said yes he was, we chatted quickly as it wasn't the right time but this morning we talked. He's known for over a year and told his class when they were chatting about sexuality a year ago - he goes to a large all boys catholic school. I told him I didn't care whether he was gay or straight once he was happy. He said he knew I'd accept it no problem. Hope I've said all the right things to him. He's an amazing boy, bright,quirky and handsome and I just love him to bits.
