Charged with affray = possible sentence

A relative of mine has been charged with this, started a fight while out drinking. Police called and he tried to take them on as well, was physical towards the police including biting one.

He's been in prison before for drug offences though hasn't been in trouble for 5 years.

Is prison likely?

Looking more closely, 123evo's post is actually from 2015 so there's no bloody way this should have come up on trending without anyone posting on it. Definitely a glitch of some sort.

The Zombie warning was clear as day when I spotted this on 'trending' earlier this afternoon.

I was going to post about how it sounded like a case when I did Jury service where whether or not the accused went to prison was up to the judge to decide, ie what sort of history the person in question had and whether they had shown remorse, got help for their alcohol problems, stayed out of trouble since etc, but saw the warning and didn't bother, given that the original case is many years old and will have been decided one way or another by now anyway.

But 123evo bumped the thread 3 years ago? And then Tweety bumped it today

To make it clear - it was Trending BEFORE the zombie warning had even gone.

I've reported it to MN, and they tell me their techies are on the case, so hopefully all will be sorted soon.

Threads trend based on views, rather than just posts. My guess is that it has been linked somewhere before being revived.

It demonstrates what I've said from the start of Trending (as opposed to "Most Active").

In the old days "Most Active" was the most frequently posted on threads. Now it's the "Most Viewed". The trouble is, once it gets into Trending it stays there for way to long, because everyone can see the link and so it gets more "views"

It's not an accurate representative of the most interesting threads nowadays.

I wonder if the Op,s relative went to prison though?.....And how evo fared? .....

I'd love to know what's going on in the life of the OP's charming relative today, 8 years since the thread started. Something tells me he's not turned into a Pillar Of The Community yet.

@Astrid, I think the record was a poster who started a thread about a pushchair, and then came back and replied to herself three years later 😂 I’m not sure it didn’t go into classics, very funny thread.

The thread is about six down on google. People would have been googling afresh yesterday as an England cricketer was charged with it (they may have wondered if the thread was by one of his relatives? - casts side eye at Daily Fail journos). Then it will have got views and hit trending and presumably folks ignored the zombie warning...?

I thought the zombie warning was about the biting bit.........
