International abductions - any information would be appreciated

I have just spoken to a lady that helps us out around the house every now and again and she just told me her husband has abducted her kids to Jordan, which must be devastating for a mum. She seems to be doing an awful lot already to get them back (solicitors, barristers etc)(brave brave woman). But I thought I would ask you all wise mums as I recall someone on here had a similar problem.

I also recall having read in the press about associations that help you get your kids back (...one way or the other IYKWIM) Anyonw know anything about them?

Any information would be really appreciated.Just in case she hasn't come accross it before.

Many thanks

bump, hope she gets them back soon

needahand · 11/09/2009 21:10

Thanks for the bumps. I am out tomorrow but will try bumping on Sunday and Monday. I am seeing her on Tuesday or Wednesday and will try to pass the info to her them. I just cannot imagine anyone can be so mean/bitter as to do that to someone they used to love and to their kids too!

Thanks pregnant peppa. She knows about reunite and she also has specialist solicitors and barristers (here and in jordan). Will check the other links (ICACU and FCO) as she didn't mention these

Yes she seemed very together which I thought was unbelievable given the circumstances. I just dread to think what might happen if she loses the case or can't get result in Jordan (with the Charia law and all that)

bump. Any one else with more ideas/info.

Peppa. I would rather not tell how many children she has or their sex etc.. as I wouldn't want to identify her.
