What is the legal route for childcare arrangements and seeking full custody? My ex is emotionally abusive and manipulative (and he’s done this to others). He has anger issues towards me and our child. Several agencies are already aware of the situation.

Ive read mediation is the first point of call, but is there a way to go straight to the legally binding agreements?

If you have evidence of domestic abuse you can apply for a Child Arrangements Order immediately by completing form C100. If you do not have the required evidence you must first attend an MIAM (Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting). This does not involve your ex. There is no requirement to actually attempt mediation. If you go to the MIAM and say that you don't think mediation is appropriate, the mediator will complete section 4 of your C100, allowing you to apply for a Child Arrangements Order.
