Redundancy questions

Can anyone with employment law experience please help me to calculate what my final pay should be following redundancy please?
My notice was given on 14/11/25 (this was my last day of work) and my last day of gardening leave was 12/12/25.
I had 10 days of holiday left which were included as part of my gardening leave.
My salary was £24,100.
I can’t seem to find any answers online. Thank you

Sounds like you’ve got good ground to challenge your ex employer on that, as you were paid in lieu of notice you did not work your notice period or take gardening leave.

Contact HR and ask about the working day you’re missing pay for at the same time.

What is the last day of employment on your P45?

recyclingtruck · 12/01/2026 19:27

Thank you. They have said I’m not entitled to the holiday pay.

Did they give a reason why?
And what was the last day of employment on your P45?

On my P45 it says ‘leaving date’ 13/11/25.

Re the holiday pay, they said they are entitled to ask me to take the outstanding holiday as part of my notice.

Go back to them and say you didn’t work your notice, you were paid in lieu. As you were not employed for your notice period you could not have taken your holiday. Ask them to sort out your last day of employment and pay you the additional day.

Call ACAS for free advice.

Hope you get it sorted OP, I don’t know how they can say your holiday was taken during your notice period while saying your last day of employment was before you were even given notice. Hopefully you can get through to someone with a bit of common sense.

Is it the notice period or the holiday?

If it’s holiday check if they have calculated it as £24,100/12 months /31 days x 10 days = £647.85 or £24,100/260 days x 10 days = £926.93.

Hi, which one of these is correct please? Thank you

The one using 260 days is correct. They can use 261 but not 365.

Thank you very much
