I was seeing a work colleague for five weeks (!) earlier this year, and long story short, it ended up with him being arrested on blue lights for stalking and harassment offences.
He was due to answer bail at the beginning of October. He did, and was re-bailed until the end of November as the CPS were really busy and hadn't got round to the case yet.
Last Wednesday was his new bail date and no one will tell me the outcome. I've contacted the police several times since then, and have been told that only the officer in charge can give me an update, but that "they will pass the message on to her and she will contact me". One of the times I spoke to the police, the OIC was actually on duty and they said she'd ring me so I sat next to my phone for hours like a nervous wreck waiting for the call, but there was nothing.
I feel so powerless, and very worried too. What if they've NFA'd it and he just appears back at work? (He was suspended, then sent to a different prison - yes, we work for the prison service!!). What if he has been charged, given a court date and I don't know about it yet? I know it won't be immediately but I have crippling hyperemesis gravidarum and crapping myself about having to attend court in this state, when I can't even get out of bed.
Is it normal to be left in the dark this long?
