Legal Aid Solicitors - Liverpool

please can anyone recommend a Litigation Solicitors that accepts legal aid in Liverpool or surrounding areas? I separated from my abusive ex 3 years ago and had no contact in 2 years. We joint own a house that he is currently living in with his new partner but they haven’t paid the mortgage in over 2 years and he’s refusing to sell. Everytime it goes to court to get repossessed, he makes a small payment, which they seem to accept and the process starts again. My credit score can’t get much lower, I’m private renting (so expensive) but not in work as I have to care for my disabled daughter with complex needs and don’t qualify for social housing because I still part own the house. I’ve lost count how many times I’ve emailed and called Morecroft solicitors but don’t get a response so not them please. I also only get £3 a week child maintenance because he’s lying about his income. He’s self employed so able to hide what he earns whilst driving around in his sports cars 🤦🏼‍♀️. Any help or advice would be really appreciated. Thank you xx

It’s not my field but afaik that scenario wouldn’t qualify for legal aid. It’s not a criminal mattter or a domestic abuse case and you’re not homeless.

There’s a history of domestic abuse which is why I qualify.i also had to have legal aid for child access orders, but that’s a different field. Its financial abuse what he’s doing,

There is no current domestic abuse though. You haven’t seen him in two years

It’s financial and coercive abuse. There was domestic abuse, so many police reports and Non mols that I had to relocate….. the house where we are currently living isnt suitable for my daughter. Her wheelchair doesn’t fit through the door and her cot bed is in the conservatory. No bathroom downstairs, and can’t get her upstairs as shes too heavy to carry….. but can’t afford anywhere else. The only way of resolving the situation is to force sale of the property, because he is refusing to do….. so I disagree. It is abuse! It’s his last effort at control so coercive abuse at the expense of my daughters.

Ok well as I said it isn’t my field but I don’t think you’ll qualify. Good luck though

Thats not what I was asking though. Im asking for recommendations of solicitors. I’ve already been told I qualify but I’m not going into details on that.

Ths is not relevant. There used to be a 5-year time limit but that was removed a few years ago. Legal aid may be available if there has been domestic abuse, regardless of how long ago it happened.

Is this any help? https://www.liverpoollawsociety.org.uk/general-public/free-legal-advice/

or they have a ‘find a lawyer’ search too for paid advice.

Ooh thank you, I’ll have a look x
