Have been offered a role with a direct financial services competitor in a non-client facing role

Please could someone let me know if clause d) from my existing contract prevents me from working for a competitor for 6 months?

Yes it is, but the restriction only bites if you are moving to that competitor along with another restricted employee (check the scope of that definition). It's an anti-team move clause. If you don't know if anyone else being hired from your current employer to work for the same new company in connection with your receuitment then you should be fine.
