How much would you expect to pay for a pair of wills from a solicitor for a married couple with one child? Our situation is not too complex but we would need to make arrangements for the care of a young child if something was to happen to us. No other beneficies involved. We don't have a lot of assets at the moment, just a heavily mortaged house.

Quick Google finds you this. Shop around like everything I guess but this price gives you a figure to start with.

We did mirror wills with the co-op. Think it was around £250. Very reasonable and a good service.

If they're straightforward there are Charities who will sort out wills.

Obviously they do so in the hope of a legacy.

We did mirror wills with a trust for the house for about £300

OP Google Martin Lewis "wills" his website features 2 months of the year when certain solicitors do free wills. I believe March & October, I'd definitely take a look at this.
