Gave a statement to the police today and now second guessing

Had to give a statement to the police today about something that happened years ago.

Since they left after a very emotional day I am now stressing that I have got one detail the wrong way around

If I have got it wrong then it could show me to be lying which is not the case. I am now worrying that if this statement reaches court I will be challenged and found to be a liar and then none of my statement will be believed.

I've messaged the family liaison officer who took the statement and explained the detail on what I might or might not have done - what next??? Can that bit of my statement be retracted??

At a guess this is related to historic violence or abuse. Do not worry. It is widely accepted in such reports that the reporting person will have timelines slightly muddled. Please ring a support line appropriate to your experience, as disclosure can cause an awful lot more trauma

take care

Thank you - I contacted the officer I spoke too who said not to worry as well
