Bank erroneously shared my financial info with my ex-partner

I received an email from my bank stating that they’d mistakenly shared information about my personal current account with my ex-partner. They said they’d referred themselves to the FCA and ICO and would pay me £250 in compensation. (Other customers were also affected).

Backstory, this was a joint current account (originally in my sole name) but after I found out my husband had been playing away a year or so ago, he called the bank, persuaded them to remove the overdraft so that he could take himself off the joint account and allowed him to transfer the remaining funds from our joint account into a new account in his name. I wasn’t notified of any of this until later on. I complained as I felt they should have sought some authorisation from me for the transfer of funds in the circumstances and was paid a small amount in compensation.

Having called up to understand what was shared, it was details of my salary and bonus, payments into an ISA and SIPP and savings account movements. We have yet to start negotiating the settlement agreement for the divorce but I didn’t want this information shared at this point as it may have an outcome on negotiations (granted that full disclosure will be made down the line during the settlement). We’re currently in a twilight zone where I’m trying to hold my cards close to my chest (he earns substantially more than me and has not shared his recent bonus and redundancy settlement either).

I am very cross and when I called to raise a formal complaint, the relevant team noted down the implications in terms of negotiating my settlement and wanted to know if there were any other consequences. They were keen for me to name an amount that would settle the complaint but I declined to do that as I have no idea.

Any suggestions would be appreciated and sorry for a long post....

Thanks, any chance you could point me in the right direction as it's not coming up when I search on the app.
