Solicitor wanting my d.o.b.?

A family member died recently, & now his solicitor has asked for my d.o.b.

I'm very suspicious, I can't think of any reason for it. We were closely related, but not actually close.

Any thoughts, please ?

Then why isnt your question how do I check that a solicitor who I'm in contact with about a deceased relative a very cunning impersonator?

Look them up for free on the SRA website - then call the firm’s switchboard to check you’re not dealing with someone impersonating a solicitor.

but for the love of god, once you’ve established that they are a solicitor pls give them the necessary info.

I am sure the residual beneficiary will be just fine with the OP turning down her legacy on data privacy grounds 😀

I have to ask this as a security question and I always wonder why people give it freely. One had one who was suspicious - nothing wrong with that - but do look them up and call them.

Rookie mistake - you want to be 10 years older so that, if they ever see you IRL, they are awed by your youthfulness 😀

But darling, I already look 15 years younger than I really am so it’s hard enough for people to relate to me as it is, swayed as they are by my natural grace and beauty.
