Burgled - paperwork and cards taken

I had builders, various other trades through in Feb and have just noticed that someone has rifled through my paperwork and taken some items of note... Personal paperwork and limited company paperwork.

I don't know what else has been taken but so far have noticed the following:

Companies house registration/certificate/documents
Council tax bills for both personal property and limited company
Personal property leasehold title (original copy).

Ive registered with Land Registry property alert - which provides updates to changes to titles
Cancelled all cards
Reported to the police
About to put a block on my own personal credit report with experian
Not sure if I can do this with the limited company too
Change the locks on door

Is there anything else I should be doing?

Is there anything you should notify Companies House about- stopping change of registered address, new directors being appointed?
Bank- attempts to change address etc?

Log it with police?

She literally said in her OP that she’d reported it to the police. 🙄

Companies house have a service to prevent fraud which notifies you of any attempted changes. More likely they'll try and apply for credit/loan against the company

We were burgled after having some building work done with mutiple trades. i suspect someone 'cased' the house and then came back a couple of months after the work was finished.

The police did ask for the names of all the people who had been in the house, which the builder who had organised everything was happy to provide. I think the police only wanted to see if there was a name that existed in their records.

We only lost items like PC, some jewellery etc. it sounds more like yours may be for some sort of fraud or loan. Sorry.

@Applecart12 I would also suggest you update the contact addresses on the Land Register so one is an email address. It’s free and email is hard to intercept. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/updating-registered-owners-contact-address

I would also suggest you check your credit record regularly in case any debt has been taken out in your name.

Update registered owners' contact address (COG1)

Keep your contact details with HM Land Registry up to date.

I've access to my limited company credit report and so far no searches have been made.

Looked through title deeds and they all have restrictions on them already - seems it is standard when mortgaged.

Have also registered with Proof - the companies house services to restrict changes being made other than through Web filing which I have access to.

Police could not do anything. I asked for forensics to come out to dust the safe but as they had not broken into it they said it wouldn't be under scope.

There's also cifas but there are quite a few negative reviews on applying for this.

I may ask all the tradies if they wouldn't mind if I gave the police their details and then gauge their reactions. I had about 5 different lots come in.

I've asked one to come back to quote for more work and he doesn't seem bothered so maybe I can rule him out although I guess you can never tell?!
